As I pointed out the Yalta and Potsdam conferences divided Europe into western and eastern Europe. NATO and the Warsaw pact insured that the agreements were kept. The idea that the Soviets invaded eastern Europe in the 1940s is not supported by the facts.

"The rest of the Eastern European countries were totally ruined by the nazis and the Soviets as they pursued the nazis."
This is why they couldn't resist the result of the Yalta and Potsdam conferences even though they didn't want to be under the Soviet yoke.

Your comment on western Europe is not relevant. The western European countries wanted to be tied to the west.

""You seem to belong to that group of Americans which refuses to accept any progress that doesn't fall into a set of preconceived notions as embodied in the America of the 1700s. I suppose you use leeches instead of antibiotics."

That paragraph doesn't seem to have any relationship to the things I had to say about Europe."

OK, try it on this way, you argue from a set of notions that were out of date in the 50's and have been out of date ever since. A part of that set of notions is that the US democracy and freedom is in some way superior to the European style of democracy and freedom. Patently false.
