Fox's Murdoch invested 500 million to start his rightwing radio empire. Shows like Limbaugh, Hannity and O'Reilly were heavily subsidized for years before they started making profits.

Air America was started for 6 million and was almost immediately unable to pay its bills. It has also been under attack from the rightwing media tycoons who don't want to share the airwaves. Rightwinger business interests control about 90% of radio now. But that is un-Constitutional and it's going to change.

Ed Schultz is coming on strong and beating Hannity in places like Minneopolis-St. Paul when he goes against him. Yet the rightwing forced him off the air in liberal Madison, Wisc. despite good ratings. Why? Pressure from Bushies.

The real problem is, even in liberal Los Angeles, there is no choice. All we have are rightwingers on the air, except for Air America and Ed Schultz on a small under-capitalized station at the end of the dial. It's a virtual monopoly, it's unfair and it's going to change.
