Nevada should be the solar power capitol, indeed. The whole Great American desert should be a huge new solar and wind power plant. But big oil, big coal and big power have way too much influence in DC< especially with their pals Bush-CHeney in office. You remember when Reagan got into power he immediately scrapped Carter's huge new solar program. What a corrupt mistake that was.

That's why we're progressives. If Carter's program had been allowed to expand and flourish we'd be off Arab oil completely by now. And if JFK hadn't been murdered the Cold War would have ended many years earlier than it did.

Now we see a big looming problem with Iran. That could be over quickly once Bush-cheney are gone.
