Communism is a great idea that's never worked as the best solution anywhere. I think it just goes too much against human, or perhaps our animal natures.

It has had it's effect, as every western democracy has been forced to adopt certain socialist features.

It may return in some form in the future. It would be silly to think our or any form of government is the end of evolution and invention as far as governments go.
