Personally, I don't know why people are nervous about this stock. Before I bought this stock following the recent ten plus point drop, I checked with both the Tellabs analyst at Value Line and with Scottino, Tellabs' investor relations manager. This is a fundamentally sound company with great future prospects. I used today's dip as an opportunity to buy more of this stock for even less than the 53 I paid a couple weeks ago.

According to Scottino, Tellabs will just meet analysts' estimates of 33 cents for this quarter. He explained that the Finnish currency loss just reduces per share earnings by about two cents and that this just wipes out the prospect of beating market earnings estimates.

Just to be very clear, Scottino said that Tellabs' CEO is "very comfortable" with the 33 cents estimated for this quarter and the 40 cents (I am doing this by memory) estimated for next quarter.

I may just pick up some more TLAB if it drops again tomorrow. As I see it, this is about as much of a sure thing as you can get in this market.
