My opinion - Beyond what I recently posted.

I think the pro-drug legalization side frequently overstates their case, and too often seems pro-drug rather then pro-legalization, but I still think the practical facts line up on their side when carefully considered (esp. for marijuana), and philosophically I think its a bad idea for government to try to exert so much control, esp. in cases where such control is resisted strongly over time.

Ah, but realistically and practically, the level of welfare state we have now is not going away.

I agree its very unlikely, but that doesn't mean that it justifies a strong level of government control. And the argument that it does, if taken to its logical conclusions, is scary.
