Nagin is in bed with the Bushies. Very much so. But he has to pretend he's not to get re-elected. As in case you hadn't noticed, Louisiana is the only state whose democrats regularly side with big oil. It is a corrupt state and party is pretty much irrelevant, although the Landrieu family fairly progressive.

My point is, using Nagin as a scapegoat is not only dishonest but ironic. Besides Nagin had nothing to do with the problems outside New Orleans itself. And the problems go for hundreds of miles in each direction. Some towns have not rebuilt at all. They're wastelands.
