Politics in Oregon were so objectionable that I thought I would never go back. I think the politics are governed by some weird ecotopia cult. Multnomah County is the worst. They have a bill of rights for children which says among other things that if the parents won't take their children to athletic events somebody else will do it for them. Taxes are commensurate with the level of lunacy. Here's a picture of Bud Clark, who was Mayor of Portland for eight years shortly after the picture was taken. Neil Goldschmidt had an affair with a 13 year old girl while he was in office, which fact was disclosed a couple of years ago. Dan Quayle was egged in Pioneer Square by the ecoterrorists. It's just crazy.
