Have you seen "An Inconvenient Truth" yet? I haven't read the book, but as best I can remember Gore addresses this very same natural climate cycle in the film. It's presented as a graph with the highs and lows bracketed. He then shows how in recent decades the trend has broken out of the top and is rising exponentially.

My point is that what you are referencing is known and has not been ignored by scientists who back man-made global warming.
