IMO, the 'evil' that is preached about by the world's religions is THIS KIND OF EVIL. It's the evil of thuggishness, greed, ignorance, violence, autocracy, abuse, stupidity and generally uncivilized behavior.
We don't have to look for Satan or the boogey man or the big bad wolf, they are there in plain sight. It really is a banal evil but it's evil nonetheless. |
