Correction: Roberton Stephens not first with "Buy." Montgomery initiated coverage last month (August) with a "Buy." So RS is first already-covering firm to up their recommendation (from long term accumulate). Who says analysts are boring as toast? Check out this final line to the report: Intuit also operates with some Eleusinian mystery about its operations, probably enhancing its overall franchise value but making earnings predictions and business analysis a highly refined art among industry observers. That, my friends, is poetry.
