After getting the run around for hours, tech support finally kicked me off the line and said they would esclate the issue. With gateway, they said the download from sigmatel was being downloaded to a cabs file rather than a drivers store.

As the guy was kicking me off the phone, he mentioned scan for hardware changes. That could care of the whole problem!!

Go to device manager and find the icon - scan for hardware changes. Hope it helps someone!!
