"If you go broke due to medical bills but had insurance, you had a stupid policy, UNLESS you simply could not afford a reasonable policy."

Most people have no choice about insurance because they get it from their employers. If they go to a different job or lose their job and they have preexisting conditions, they aren't going to get those covered.

The ENTIRE POINT is that the health care industry is unsustainable the way it is. If you believe in capitalism then this particular capitalistic enterprise is BANKRUPT. It offers poor healthcare at a huge premium.

It's utter nonsense.

As I keep telling you and you keep ignoring, THE REALITY of health care and health insurance in the USA is horrendous. If you dare to get sick with a serious illness then you're toast.

I remember a TV magazine piece on an upper middle class family where the wife had cancer or some other serious disease. Her insurance company wouldn't pay for the drug she was taking so they were paying $8K or thereabouts A MONTH for it.

She could simply pack up and die of course because she could no longer afford that but is this the kind of country we live in? It's heinous to think that a country that can spend $3 BILLION/WEEK blowing things up and killing people in a foreign country can't afford to spread the cost of healthcare so that EVERYONE would get ALL of the care they required.

Will everyone get all the care they want? You can continue to pay out of pocket for all kinds of medical procedures but you would get basic care that keeps body and soul together until the very end of life. At that point, good drugs in ample quantities make the most sense.
