Well the US is certainly making it easier for Russia to do that if, in fact, that's what is happening.


Hedge your comment there and use "if". Be sure not to disagree openly with the concensus.

I think that the Chinese have another view on that matter. To start with the Chinese(and the Indians) are competing with the US for energy. Chinese demand for oil is projected to increase by 50-60% by 2025. That alone is enough to cause hostile behaviour.


Everyone who uses oil "competes" in the free market for oil but that is no reason for countries to be enemies. The US and Japan both import oil, ditto Germany, etc etc. Doesn't make us enemies. The free market eliminates the need for resource wars / colonialism.

Re India - the US and India are developing close defense ties.
