Hamid, from the last earnings press release: "As part of its previously reported plan to close approximately 120 sunglass locations during the first half of 1997, the Company closed 47 under-performing locations, bringing the total number (including 23 locations closed during the fourth quarter of fiscal 1996) of targeted closings to date to 70 locations (11 additional closings for the second quarter). Following the close of the Company s seasonally strong summer selling season, further store closings are planned for the third and fourth quarters of fiscal 1997. " See: biz.yahoo.com It's not a matter of opening stores for the summer only. RAYS had decided to close a number of stores but felt it could milk some profits by delaying closing until after the summer.
