I was much more interested in fishing than hunting as I grew up. I loved our fishing trips up to what everyone around here knew as "the high lakes". A full day's horseback or hiking trip to get up there. Fishing was always unbelievable and we would stay for 3 or 4 days. Here's a little bit of what I'm talking about:

Especially look at, and around, Grand Lake. This is the largest natural lake in Colorado and, until the Bureau of Reclamation made numerous changes right after WWII, it was also the source of the Colorado River. That has now changed to the man made Shadow Mountain Lake. Beautiful country, but, sadly, now way over populated.
