Show me where, ANYWHERE, a free market that exists in reality and not in the theory of an ivory tower academic subsisting on government grants.

I have never claimed that there is anything like an ideal free market. But the US economy is not a bad approximation, although many distortions are in it.

I'm also happy to have a good deal of oversight & regulation of a free market system. Nobody can accuse me of being a radical Libertarian. I do tend to favor disclosure or transparency over regulation, but both are needed.

So please tell me why you have not started an insurance company? Medicare is not currently expected to replace insurance, so that is not a valid excuse, unless you actually think it will shortly. You are claiming that one sector of the economy is widely profitable, and magically, competition is not working there. BS plain and simple.

If you're so adamant about a free market, why don't you address the ROI? Why are we paying so much more than anyone else but have worse outcomes?

For many, we have the best outcomes. Many of the advanced treatments we offer those who can afford it are not available elsewhere.

Or problem is one nonequality. I've repeatedly told you my solution: Mandatory health insurance coverage, that is the citizen is REQUIRED to carry his own health insurance, and the policy MUST meet minimum guidlines which are reasonable. That coupled with tax based wealth transfer to assist the poor in paying there premiums.

I repeat

1) Every individual required to care a health insurance policy meeting minimum guidelines.

2) Tax based wealth transfer to assist the poor in paying their premium.

The above two when coupled with free markets will make things work.
