Moose, I would betcha that if Jefferson were alive today he would consider the NYT's the BEST newspaper around.

Jefferson was actually more of a Democrat than a Republican during his time. Adams was more the Republican. Adams was the guy that wanted to lock up people that said bad things about him in the newspapers.

But Adams was also the guy that put the Nation ahead of his popularity by avoiding going to war with France.

BOTH those guys make Bush and Cheney seem miniscule.
