One positive I've read about Australian stocks is a preferred tax treatment the government allows to the corporations paying dividends.

Gee, early this morning I read a long report on investments in Australia and now I cannot find it. Just spent over 30 minutes, I'm giving up. I'll probably come across it tomorrow. What I can recall is that investing in certain stocks there may provide outsize gains in dividends. Of course one also has the commodity angle, if you are optimistic with respect to commodities and Australia's potential as a commodity exporter.

I've never traded Forex, you'll have to let me know how it goes.
