Exxon 2006: 39.5 BILLION PROFIT. Not revenue, profit. The Wall Street bonuses alone paid in 2006 approach this figure. "Wall Street bonuses hit record $24B" money.cnn.com It takes something half a billion dollars to win a presidential election in the US currently. This is hardly a recipe for ethical government, no matter which party gets elected. But by far, it is the GOP which has lead the way in raping the American middle class and poor. It will take some form of crisis to wake the public up to how harmful this unequal wealth redistribution is to the country. Possibly it will be in the form of a currency crisis when the world finally decides to pull the lever and get off the bus with the dollar.
