We'll have to leave someday, and the Iranians will be in the local catbird's seat, with a friendly and probably closely allied Iraq right next door, no longer contending with it. Iran going nuclear sometime in the future. Israel is freaking out. The unintended consequences of the Bushie invasion make Iran the winner. Not much thought given to them before, but then, they didn't even consider the consequences of the invasion in IRAQ. Real geopolitical incompetence and lack of thought and of planning on display. Much of the "bad intel" used to egg on the invasion came from Curveball provided by Ahmed Chalabi, a man who has lived in Iran for years and has close ties with the Iranians. Some even speculate that he's an Iranian agent. foxnews.com "The Bush administration's disenchantment with its onetime favorite Iraqi client, Ahmad Chalabi (search), has centered on the explosive allegation that he and his associates may have forwarded highly classified U.S. information to the Islamist government in Iran." This has yet to be investigated thoroughly. The Bushies didn't want to KNOW the answer. Maybe the Dems will get it done.
