I take it by saying "I don't believe in Peak Oil", you mean that you don't believe that we will reach the peak any time soon. Right?

Obviously we will have a peak at some point, and I don't think that point is in the really distant future, but I don't agree with the dire predictions of peaks in 5 or 10 years (or even "we have already peaked"). Also I don't think that upon reaching the peak we will fall off a cliff, more like a plateau or a gentle downslope that will allow other energy/fuel sources to ramp up.

The most extreme "peak oil" statements are something along the lines of "oil production has already peaked and soon will drop dramatically, we won't be able to ramp up alternate supplies, the world economy will crash, millions or even billions of people will die, there will be wide spread war and a permanent decline in living standard..."

I certainly don't believe in that version of "peak oil".
