Plant growth is dependent on carbon dioxide intake which gives subsequent production of oxygen. Greater concentrations of CO2 gives better conditions for plant growth and yield bigger and faster growing plants which consume even more CO2. So one key would seem to be in maintaining adequate plant life (and not destroying the rain forest). The land is mostly inhabited by plants and even cultivated plants consume CO2. Has anyone seen any studies as to what kind of plants are most efficient in transforming CO2 into O2? Are grasses better per acre than rain forest or other trees? Who knows, maybe should plant corn to make ethanol (doubtful). Perhaps vacant land should be deliberately populated with the best type plants.
