I don't know what it is about you Americans...From a military standpoint you have more troops than you could possibly need to win any conflict in Iraq. Haven't you ever studied any of the Roman conflicts? Haven't you all ever played Warcraft 2? It's all about strategy, and your strategy is way too conventional.

You have made so many obvious tactical/political errors that have cost you so much. You always have this Hollywood mentality that bigger/more is best. It's not all about spending money. You are so wrong. So wrong especially today when great technology is now in the hands of the common people. You will never be able to adapt with the hopeless personnel that are messing up the job today.

As it stands now, your only hope is to withdraw. You have lost the ideological war. You must now look at your collective finances and begin the new process of streamlining which is such a foreign concept for your military and political leaders. Unfortunately with the generals you have in command now it doesn't look like that is going to happen soon.

Gen. Casey: Shinseki mistreated

SEN. LEVIN: You've talked a little bit about what General Shinseki said here about needing more troops, about the way he was treated. Do you have any feelings about the way he was treated after he spoke honestly about his opinion?

GEN. CASEY: I don't think he was treated well.

SEN. LEVIN: You've indicated on a number of occasions that your efforts were thwarted by Iraqi leaders…By the way, I couldn't agree with you more relative to Shinseki. I think he was treated miserably, and that message, I think, was an insult to everybody in uniform. But I'll leave it at that. You gave me an answer which is perfectly consistent with what I just said, although perhaps not as purple in its prose.
