storm, I just follow the charts. While I do believe we will have a double dip recession in late 2008 or early 2009 as well as 2011, I do not use that in my analysis (in fact, the double dip recession is extrapolated from charts). Whether we need oil or don't need oil is not part of it either.

I find that fundamental analysis is often fright with bias and rationalizations for an existing bias. I prefer to use charts. Charts are neutral and non-biased, and the rules applied to chart analysis are quite rigid within the context of the observed probability and outcome ratios.

There is a bit of interperative analysis required, but a good technician with trading experience can improve probabilities even more.
