I think this article may have hit a golden nugget of truth. In particular, that our Sunni allies like Saudi Arabia (try not to laugh while reading that) are nervous about Iran's growing influence in the region and want the US to put a check on their power.

Again, I have to point out that we wouldn't have dubious allies like Saudi Arabia, if we were not addicted to oil and if we didn't have leaders bought and paid for by oil, like Bush and Cheney. If we didn't have to kowtow to dubious alliances like that, then we wouldn't have to have such a large interest in the Middle East and fight wars there.

This is all such a big joke. I feel like Mickey Mouse is running our country and the solutions are so obvious, but Mickey just doesn't get it.
