I think Obama is indeed that, but not so openly.
He is being positioned as the NEW new thing, a kinder, gentler version of anyone you can think of.
To get your BA in Triangulation, you just have to define the two base points. Shall we say Kucinich on the left and McCain on the right. Then you divide the base in the middle, and erect the apex of the triangle at a height above that providing an elevation that will enable all three sides of the triangle to be the same in size.
What determines the ELEVATION of the apex above the base? SPIN!
In Obama's case it's HOPE, KINDLER, GENTLER, blah blah blah
Don't leave it to Beaver, leave it to your Beige Daddy. Hell, look at your hand--YOU ARE NOT WHITE (unless you are an albino)! So no matter what your color scheme, Obama-san will look after you.
In Hillary's case it's We'll look after Israel, America's needs, get the boys back, get Health care going better, look after our corporations, kids, everybody. Leave it to Mom. Who do you think was REALLY running the show when Bill was out there getting his "member" exercised and measured?
In the end, it's the same message: JUST GIVE US YOUR GUCKING VOTE AND WE WILL GET ON WITH THINGS. YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW DIFFICULT IT IS DEALING WITH THE REAL PEOPLE WHO RUN THIS COUNTRY.

PS That's the course outline for the BA. At the MA level you get to understand what each side of the triangle actually represents. At the PhD level it is revealed that everything you have learned about is just SHOW AND SMOKE SCREEN.
You then meet either:
-- probably the most evil person you have encountered thus far
-- your Spiritual Master
and you make the basic choice, whaddya want:
-- DARK?
or
-- LIGHT?
