GZ, I read about that practice being used on Islamic women a long time ago, long before there seemed to be any threat to the world by the nations of the Middle East.

I don't think that is a religious thing, but is an indication of the inability for Arab men to feel secure with a woman that has not been mutilated like that. IMO, if they are that insecure with their women, they should go back to their camels for satisfaction.
