A new boxing star was born last night as "Bad" Chad Dawson put on an awesome display of boxing skill mixed with power and grit as he dominated tough Tomasz Adamek to win the WBC light heavyweight title.

The fight was exciting and dramatic even though it was mostly one sided through the first 9 rounds. Dawson controlled the action with an excellent jab and an assortment of power punches and showed he belonged with the best in the division. In the 10th round Adamek caught Dawson with a counter right and dropped Dawson pretty hard. A light bulb went on for Adamek on how to attack Dawson's southpaw style but it was too little too late. Dawson fought back well in the 11th and stunned Adamek and cagily fought the 12th round to close the show.

As for the broadcast, Steve Albert and Al Bernstein were excellent as they enhanced the action and announced and analyzed the fight as it occurred, without editorial bias. They continue to get better and serve the viewer, not their network's interests.
