True on the battery.

The battery in my Suburban is about 18 months old, and we put a new battery in the Van in the fall.

The 'burban starts right up even when it is 10 degrees outside, but can sense the extra power draw on the battery. Takes it a second or two extra to get started.

I understand one measure of auto/truck batteries is "CCA" or "cold cranking amps." Since a battery is essentially a box in which a chemical reaction is taking place to produce juice, it makes sense that cold slows down the reaction. One of those thermodynamic things, I think.
