I'm not giddy. What's happening in Iraq represents GWB's failure at waging war. He listened to Rumsfeld, Rice and Cheney, all of whom knew dick about waging war. Powell said it himself, "Those people have never been in a bar room fight."

You forget, I supported the invasion, but it was managed ineptly. For instance, why was Garner removed after the invasion. Garner and his staff had built up relationships with Iraqis, they had developed a plan (more than a year in the making) for Iraq post invasion. Garner begged, pleaded with Bremer not to disband the Iraqi military. Where'd that idea come from? That move alone sent, how many, 50,000? more?, home, armed and unemployed. Gees, doesn't take a genius to figure out they were going to cause trouble. Military people know, you just remove the top two levels of leadership and you've got the army on your side... But Bremer had no experience, and neither did Rumsfeld -- though it was probably his idea though you won't find his fingerprints on it...
