john, technology isn't the goal,
cpq runs most of their 24 b and soon to be 50 billion dollar compnay on proliants and mini's. minis are going out for tandems and bigger proliants are going in.
So, if they can run a 24 billion dollar compnay with instant response times...
then what more can you want and they do it with 4 times the profit per employee than some of the best.
I can run billion dollar compnaies on proliant technology right now and have instantanoeus response times, rf data collection, internet, externets, EDI, and a host of other leading edge technologies.
the mainframe or proliant isn't want makes a compnany prodcutive.
