Listen to Motorola yourself....they basically admitted to the fact that they havent been able to compete in 3G.

Chipset is about $20 (ref TI comments). Everything else is about ten times more.

The baseband alone is in the low to mid teens and the applications processor is in the low to mid teens as well. Of course, these comments only apply to TI's custom solutions for EMP and Nokia where both of those companies do quite a bit of the R&D involved. TI has yet to make any headway into the merchant chip market and so I have no idea what type of price they are attempting to charge.

Perhaps they will announce their first design win at 3GSM? If they could have provided the solution that won the "3G for All" initiative it would have a been nice headline, but it doesnt look like that will be the case.
