I always thought Apple and MOT could make a decent merger. Not much product overlap. The iPhone could be the high end phone, and MOT would probably be able to get it into carriers worldwide faster than MOT. And Apple would have to be able to make better us of MOT's set top box division in their efforts to control the digital home - must be some synnergy with the Apple TV idea, and future ideas down the road. Not sure where the telecom equipment division at MOT would go - perhaps they can divest it to ALA-LU or Ericson. Just an idea. I've heard people say Jobs would never go for it because MOT has too much exposure to low end phones, but it seems like a reasonably good fit. Probably a lot of fat that can be cut at MOT.
