They have a terrible problem and as mentioned I saw only two cities. Projects like Three Gorges (despite the cons) add a lot of clean power. On the nuclear front they are being very aggressive uic.com.au see the China row in the table. Also the coal ash issue is likely to be addressed as they have a deal in the works to process their coal waste to remove the uranium (likely thorium also). Coal waste from power stations is very radioactive so anyone living near one of those piles (some very big ones in the US where coal still accounts for 50% of the electric generation especially base load) is exposed to far higher levels than normal background radiation. I posted a link before but cannot find it right now..

I'll likely get a more comprehensive view this summer as I plan to visit some more off the beaten path areas.. Going to find my grandfather's village for example. No plans as yet for Hong Kong or Shanghai.

Anyway I recently bought AGC .79-.80 ... what else do I need.. ? My new rule is only ones that go up thank you. :O)

Tidbit.. the US generates about 7 times the electricity that China does. 50% of US power comes from coal 78% of Chinese power comes from coal.
