Apparently Jerry Sanders finds it much easier to talk about manufacturing multi-millions of K6 chips than actually producing them. One of Intel's hidden strengths is its ability to mass produce microprocessors. Considering the complexity, size, and need for purity in the ingrediants, it is almost a miracle that they can be made at all, much less by the millions.
Every time AMD stumbles, Intel gets further ahead. However, there is demand for a second supplier of microprocessors . Companies do not like to be entirely dependent on one supplier for the most critical part of a computer. AMD will solve their production problems, and AMD might not be a bad investment if it gets cheap enough.
