Ted, > Because he was touting his military background and insisting that more troops were needed. He only backed down from his position when asked what would be an appropriate number.

Who the heck is going to know what number is appropriate?

Like I said, he's not a general and never pretended to be.

If he doesn't know what the number is [and at one time, he claimed he did know what number was that would work], what makes him so sure any number will do the trick; that the war is winnable if we increase the troop size? Are we supposed to keep sending troops until we win?

This is why I am sick and tired of white men and their dangerous schemes......they start wars they don't have a clue how to win but they don't care because their defense industries will make money no matter what. The biggest mistake this country ever made was joining the fight in WW II. In the process, we created a defense industry that is never happy unless we are at war. Prior to WW II, the US would never have invaded a country that didn't pose a threat to its well being.

Bottom line: McCain is a pawn of these white men and should be ignored.
