it's kind of a stretch to call dredging the 17th Street canal a "navigation project".

At the West End, where the canal ends, there have always been a few shrimp boast that come into the canal, the deliver their wares to restaurants.

I know, I know, it's a stretch.

I just wish the Feds would own up to their responsibility rather than have the plaintiffs' bar force them to pay up, and charge a 10-20% tax on the proceeds.

<rant/on>All it does is unnecessarily enrich already rich lawyers, delay the reconstruction, and make the COE look even more stupid than it actually is, if that is possible.

I love this city, but for some reason I sometimes think that it is the dumbest place in America. Couple that innate stupidity with the incomparably idiotic federal bureaucracy, and we have a perfect storm of idiocy.<rant/off>
