Any kind of spin-off, be it QTL or QTC might be viewed as a sign of weakness on QCOM's part, a signal that QCOM does not have confidence in its legal position. I guess QCOM would argue that it is simply trying to maximize shareholder value by putting an end to some of the legal issues and forcing the Stockholm crowd to backdown much more quickly.. Does anyone remember the market reaction to SpinCo while it was bandied about by QCOM?
