Surprised to see TBRL has a following!

I've been impressed with Timber Lodge since my first visit back in 1994, when it was still called Minnesota Steakhouse.

This is really a small company, but very well run. I live less than a mile from the corporate headquarters, and let me tell you, they aren't spending a lot of money on administrative overhead! The founder and chairman owns the building and leases out the main floor to an Allstate agent ?, and the second floor to Timber Lodge.

The St. Louis Park restaurant is right across the street from the headquarters. I drive by it almost every day. It is always packed, and the parking lot jammed. I know people in St. Cloud and Duluth, and they say the same thing. Great food and reasonable prices are the most frequent comments when I ask people if they like Timber Lodge.

At the end of 1996 they operated 12 locations and reported $20.6 million in sales. By the end of 1997, they will have 17 locations and should be able to crack $27 million in sales (31% increase). They should be able to do at least $31 million in sales in 1998, (17 stores @ $1.8 million per store). I hope that they will be able to earn $.35 this year, and $.50 in 1998.

I will be very surprised if TBRL doesn't reach at least $7.50 by this time next year. (PE of 15 x $.50 1998 EPS). I hope all goes as planned.
