Thanks to tech for this update at TWP/ from the yahoo unit.
John

Vikram did a very nice job.

Straight forward answers,and clear explanations.

Nothing specific of note.

Here's a couple I liked;

"Barely have scraped the surface"

"way ahead of our nearest competitors"

"Incumbents now driving the growth"

"Leadership is key"

"huge potetnial still in trunking"

"Wireless opportunity still very early"

"Wireless offloading via mini base station/Wimax,etc a driver"

"rode the 06 inflection curve better than any of our competitors"

"as wireless and cable spending on IP increase,we expect to take a
major fraction of that"

W/r to capturing new Tier 1"s in 2007......."we're looking forward to
it".

He answered the IMS question as we've discussed here. "No one has
been able to give a complete solution". Dis-aggregation.(Best of
breed).

I liked where Vikram kind of blamed the incumbent vendors(because
their gear wasn't reliable) for the drag on VOIP's adoption.

Sounds as if we'll see some new products out of Sonus this
year, especially for wireless(a new switch for wireless has been
mentioned in the past).

I did like his enthusiasm about the MSO opportunity. PC 2.0,where
Cablelabs outlines it's NG architecture, builds SIP and IMS into it's
platform. As we've discussed here, plays right into what Sonus has
already architected. Cable is moving toward Sonus, not away from it.
The market, seeing that this issue was fairly unclear, will like this
clarification.

Vikram emphasized much of the opportunity/bulk still lys ahead for
Sonus, and that the next 5 years should see all this come together.

I found him referencing no other solution out there that appears to
be establishing itself. It's like Sonus has this all to itself.

He was just as enthusiastic/excited as Bert and Hassan have been in
their presentations the last 6 months.

Like we've been saying here, they are building and designing services
and platforms that have never been done before. They are architecing
the future.

I always liked Mike and how he presented. I can now add Vikram to
that list.
