New L.A. Times Blog: The Homicide Report Holy Moley! I scanned the first page of homicides. Most victims were black or latino, with a Cambodian or a Filipino for diversity. Most of them were young, under age 25. Only two were over 25 and the oldest, 57, was killed "for being a good samaritan." I can see why the LA Times can't find the print space for reporting on these things, since it would conflict with their view that more gun control laws would solve the problem. There are severe problems at work here. Gun control will not solve any of them.
