I agree and I hope the public is also starting to see the futility of delivering democracy at gunpoint. As I said before, whenever I have heard some pundit discuss the 'noble goal' of bring democracy to the middle east, I would get a cartoon-like mental picture of bombs over Bahgdad with gay little ribbon-wrapped packages of democracy tied to the sides of each bomb. It always seemed to me to be a nonsensical notion from the outset. I'm not at all a historian, but I would think that the strongest and purest democracies are those that were born from within and evolved over time.
