Webb won't be up for re-election for six years, when I will be overseas again. I also want to see how he comports himself as a senator before drawing any real conclusions. The other problem is that campaigns consist of dozens of insiders and hundreds of other worker bees all buzzing around a harried, overscheduled candidate. You have to enjoy that atmosphere or be one of the close insiders to play any real role. If someone I had known a long time in an earlier life decided to run for office, that is when I would consider taking time off from the stock world and playing in politics. Otherwise, the process is far less interesting than the issues and watching from the sidelines.
