Insights into whether the political supporters of someone who's been involved in politics for decades have any clue as to where that person stands on issues?

Hmmm. I doubt very much that I could tell you anything important about Hillary that you didn't already know.

I've already mentioned most of Giuliani's "negatives". He's pro-choice for early term abortions. He supports, not gay marriage, but domestic partnerships, and believes that it's wrong to not respect the rights of gay men and women. He is not a Second Amendment absolutist. He's been divorced. A former business associate, Kerik, was convicted of two misdemeanors and Rudy has remained his friend. He wore drag to a fund-raising event.

None of them are negatives to me, none of them are secrets to his many supporters. He was on Hannity and Colmes and Chris Matthews recently and they brought up most of these issues, so I'd say if the cat was ever in the bag, the cat's out now.

On the other side, the heir apparent, a woman well loved by her many supporters, and well hated by the rest of the country.

Given the choice between voting for Kommissar Hillary or fag-loving Rudy, what do you suppose they'll do? :)
