Um, Ed? Hello?

Are you sober?

I said Kerry attacked the records of his fellow servicemen, not you.

You are not Kerry, are you?

I would hope that you did not attack their records, since you never served with any of them.

As for resume-padding, I think that charge was well proved. It's not an attack, per se.

Almost all old soldiers puff up their records in the barroom or the VFW halls. It's one of those things that are so common that even Shakespeare made use of it when establishing the character of Falstaff.

Puffing up your own service isn't a bad thing, although it is rather pathetic.

For most of the rest of us, we've got other things to be proud of, not just things that we lived through 30+ years ago.

But if you can't get beyond your service in Vietnam, well, I guess you'll keep savaging people who don't agree with you about every little thing.

Anyway, poor Kerry is yesterday's news. He's been cast upon the ash heap of history by his own party, which has no mercy on failures.

He's been adjudged not fit to wear Kommissar Hillary's ushanka.

Oh, well.
