Art,
Thanks for your response and for looking for references. You write: "PS-----Don't depend too much on TA on low priced stocks. They are much too dependent on fundamentals and news (and sometimes manipulation) to predict with TA."
This was one major question I had/have. Moves happen so quickly that it seems one could come up with several contradictory interpretations depending on what temporal boundaries one stipulates. Of course, the time stipulation could (easily?) be integrated into a formula, but it starts looking awfully ad hoc when you do that. Obviously this is true of any stock, but it is of special concern with low priced ones for the reasons you mention.
Granting that, UMSI seems relatively secure, fundamentally, so it doesn't jump around as whimsically as, say, the stocks mentioned on the "micro-penny play" thread. So, all things considered, TA might have more of a place (which is not to say one should depend on it exclusively) here than stocks with similar raw prices. Is this a fair statement? Or is it only true until bigger news hits and people start paying attention to the stock again?
Thanks for your patience while I think 'out loud' and ask questions.

Jonathan
