I did not know there was a Muslim enclave in this area.
We do. We have a temple right off I75 and a community of them in a newer development not far from that temple. I didn't know about the community until we drove down into it looking at the new homes. It was a nice day and there were many women walking their babies in strollers or just out in twos taking a walk in garb of their faith. Heads covered etc however women did have their faces revealed.
I had the reaction that I would not want to purchase there. Not totally, I think, because of what they are, but that because of the current climate there would be little contact or communication. About that, of course, I could be wrong. People can be 'people' everywhere.
Underlying that though was the distrust. I know people can lie in wait and just 'be friends', however if they have put their faith, not in God, but in their religious leader, they will do what the religious leader says God has told them to do through him and many friendships (and safety) will fall by the wayside.
There is though in my mind, the need to know to which faith does the religious garb belong. Several homes away from our daughter and SIL live a family of 'something else'. I know they are not Muslim...They are Sikhs. Very different. I believe he must be a leader as his followers cover him with fan like objects even as he gets into his car. They are very much to themselves. There is no getting to know that particular family. en.wikipedia.org
LOL... it would help if we all went around with a sign saying... we are Muslim, we are Christian, we are Jewish, we are Sikhs, we are Hindu... that would be a good cartoon.
Joe felt "it was a completely appropriate reaction in this day and age.
Muslims have engendered that doubt in us. It is certainly not our fault." --------------------------------
I personally put my faith in God and keep a watch. It has nothing to do with profiling. It is what it is. Muslims have not stood up against what is going on and until they have the courage in numbers, I watch. This does not mean I hate. I watch. I think that is the important thing for me. Not to hate. If you hate you destroy your ability to know instantly what is right or wrong and enter into the fray. We all have instances of this however hate is another form of fear. I am personally in a place where I am trying to discard fear. That does not mean I enter into foolishness... I just try to walk out of his love, wisdom and power - surrounded by his knowing. There are many times I fail.
Ok... now... if you would like... this is rather enlightening... and certainly easy to read ... and they will even tell you how to clean yourself after you go to the bathroom - if one converts.
