'Also there is Bernanke put in the market and now there is a possibility of a government put in the housing market on multiple fronts:

a) GSE's are restructuring delinquent loans to avoid foreclosure

b) rumors of a homeowner bailout legislation in Congress

c) high rates of money supply growth

Maybe Wall st is smelling a bottom/bailout in housing or/and sharply increasing inflation ( REITS are going through the roof )

If there is a bailout of troubled homeowners , housing will go through the roof, with house prices exceeding their recent highs.'

That ain't going to happen. If folks can't make market rate PITI payments they lose the home. Simple as that. No way they introduce even more teaser rate loans, deferred interest, cramdowns of loans and let folks continue to own the place. Talk about socialized government intervention and rampant fraud going to even higher levels than the last few years.. It's over, the real economy is finally back and housing goes back to being a sideshow few pay attention to again IMHO.. Protecting the dollar,defense of the county, the purchasing power of the wealthy and the expanding economy are of vital importance not the zero equity in the home of leveraged Joe6pack. More vital to the national interest that he has a job and access to credit to keep consuming. Cleanse the debt, rinse and repeat. It is the American way..
