I have just a small position in gold now.

I will not feel comfortable buying gold or anything else in size until the market has a good shakeout

If stocks drop on liquidity fears hard to see how gold will avoid the carnage -- at least initially.

This gold bull is totally different than the 1970s. Back then gold soared on rising FEAR of inflation and financial apocalypse. But today's gold bull coincides with the near total ABSENCE of fear in the marketplace. I see no reason why a gold bull based on nothing more than excess liquidity should not drop with everything else when liquidity starts to dry up.
